Starting to Pray Again - Community Prayer Night

When was the last time you connected with God? Do you feel like you can? Or more commonly, maybe you pray, but it's like a habit without a real presence. This Night of Prayer is for everyone, whether you're part of a church somewhere or not. Talk to God by yourself. Or talk to Him with others. He loves you and wants you to. Community Prayer Night (Auditorium) Sep. 29th 5:30-7 Dinner 5:30-6:15 Piano/Violin, Prayer 6:30-7 Children (K-4th) 6:30-7 "Jax's Tail Twitches" Storytime, When You Are Angry Takes place in south dining hall during prayer. A number of instrumental pieces will be played, including this piece by Audrey Assad, which has become one of my favorites over the last year.

When Rest Disappears

Dear Rock Creek Family, My family and I will be away in Utah until Oct. 1st. We're really looking forward to the rest and relaxation during this time, but will of course naturally miss seeing you guys. This causes me to think of something my generation hasn't yet figured out: how to rest. The incessant notifications, the constant news feeds of controversial and tragic events and the unhealthy digital coping methods we use, all create an always on but never resting state of mind. Community Night, September 29

September 29 will be the next Community Night. Community Nights are a time designed to deepen relationships through fellowship and conversation while we share a meal and some kind of activity. Dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. This month’s gathering will include an optional time of live music in the sanctuary, which will provide a place for prayer and reflection for individuals or groups. Music begins at 6:15.

Missionary Updates

Rock Creek Bible Church commits a great deal of its resources to supporting the sharing of the gospel all over the world, and we want you to hear about some of the great things that are happening on those fronts. Here's a few updates from ministries supported by RCBC. Moody Bible Institute With plans for doubling its impact by 2030, Moody Bible Institute looked at all potential options for growth and decided to sell a 10-acre parcel of land in Chicago. They are working with an international real estate developer to find the right buyer, and they expect a deal to take several years to complete. Ladies Bible Study Announced for Fall

The Ladies Bible Study started September 3. This study, which is open to anyone from the area who is interested in learning more about God's Voice, is held in the RCBC fellowship hall from 9 - 11 a.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of the month. The study will be on the book, “Discerning the Voice of God” by Priscilla Shirer. Upcoming Study Dates: September 17 October 1 October 15 November 5 November 19 December 3

Joyagers Luncheon September 25

Joyagers, the monthly seniors ministry, will be held at RCBC from noon to 1:30 p.m. on September 25. The luncheon will have a back-to-school theme. All seniors are welcomed to come join us!

Christ Centered Mama Speaking at Third Thursday in September

September’s Third Thursday Talk will take place at RCBC from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on September 19. This month’s speaker will be Sarah Hardee. Sarah is the publisher and author of christcenteredmama.com where she writes to encourage women in motherhood, marriage, and faith. Sarah’s talk is titled, “Intimacy with God in an Instagram World”, and she will take a deep look into the ways women can find genuine connection to God when the whole world is at their fingertips. All women are welcome to come take part in the learning and fellowship opportunity.
