"All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals, and to prayer." (Acts 2:42)
At Rock Creek Bible Church, we are committed to the same essential things that marked the early church in the book of Acts.
TRUTH. In Acts, we see that the first century followers of Jesus were committed to Truth. This was deeply engrained in their DNA. They were devoted to the teaching of God's Word. We desire to follow in their footprints, so we too are passionate about the Bible. It teaches us Truth about God, our need for Him, and how we can live like Jesus. If you are around us long enough, you will hear us say we are a "not yet" people. But you will also observe us often studying God's Word and seeking His truth. As we do, it transform us. As we experience His Grace, growing deep roots in His Truth, it changes us in every way.
LOVE. In Acts, we also see a deep, practical Love for one another. Their Love is on full display, as they actively sought to meet one another's needs. Just like our brothers and sisters in the early church, we want to follow the command of Jesus, when He said "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I loved you, you are also to love one another." That is another essential part of the DNA at Rock Creek Bible Church. We do not want to be a people that simply teaches Truth. As we pursue His truth, we want it lived out in an application of Love.
COMMUNITY. In Acts, we see an example of Christian community as it should be. The many "one another" passages in the writings of Paul are on display in the early church. They lived life together. Sharing meals. Praying. Bearing burdens. Like them, we at RCBC want to pursue God's Truth and live out God's Love in community with God's people. The word church literally means "the called out ones" or "the house of the Lord." We believe that the house of the Lord is NOT a building, but a people. Our desire is to be a people living life together in community as God intended.
Come check us out, and meet the RCBC Community - a "not yet" people who have experienced His Love, and are following His Truth.
TRUTH. LOVE. COMMUNITY.
